THE DISTRICT ROTARACT REPRESENTATIVE’S AUGUST ADDRESS
AUGUST – MEMBERSHIP AND NEW CLUB DEVELOPMENT MONTH

Dear Fellow Rotaractors,
The first month of our service year is gone — and what a meaningful start it was. I want to thank you all for the trust, encouragement, and support you’ve shown me as I settled into this role. July reminded me that Rotaract isn’t just about positions — it’s about people, purpose, and the power of showing up for one another.
Collaboration with the Rotary District
We began the year with intention. On July 1st, we joined the District Governor and Rotarians in a prayer session at the district office. That was followed by an official visit to the DG on July 3rd — where we reaffirmed our readiness to work hand in hand with Rotary. At that meeting, I was honored to be badged a Paul Harris Fellow, a recognition I carry with humility and commitment. On July 5th, we proudly stood as a district at the DG’s installation, a sheer moment of unity and purpose.
Club Engagements and DRR Visits
My first set of DRR visits took me to the Rotaract Clubs of Kingfarm, Ikoyi, and Surulere South. I was also privileged to receive courtesy visits from Mushin, Mushin Golden, New Lagos Agege, and Surulere South. These engagements are not just formalities — they are reminders of the strength we draw from one another. Thank you to all clubs that continue to lead with warmth and collaboration.
Driving Impact through Service
In July, our joint medical outreach in Surulere, held in partnership with Second Chance Smile Foundation and Menitos Charity Foundation, reached over 300 beneficiaries. We also commemorated Maternal and Child Health Month with a cross-district initiative alongside Rotaract District in India. On World Hepatitis Day, we co-hosted a virtual seminar with Districts 9111 and 9142 — proving again that distance is no barrier when impact is the goal.
Council Meeting and Leadership Appointments
On July 26th, we held our first council meeting for the year. I want to thank every club that participated. Congratulations to Rotr. Oyewole Raheemah and Rotr. Sowemimo Adeolu on their appointments as Captain and Deputy Captain of Unite for Good Presidents. May your leadership reflect the spirit of this movement.
The Rotary Foundation and Membership Update
We must continue to support the Rotary Foundation — it fuels the global change we seek. On membership, we recorded a slight drop of -1 in July. This is a call for clubs to improve reporting on new inductions and follow proper steps for terminations. Let’s protect our numbers and nurture our members.
Our August in briefs
• RYLA 2025 opens August 3rd – 10th at Sea School, with a special fellowship with Rotaractors and Interactors to be held on August 8th. Let’s make plans to be present for the monumental gathering.
• Regal Echelon Investiture takes place this month. Thank you to all who have subscribed and supported and those who will still support our initiative — we look forward to welcoming you.
• Membership Seminar will be held virtually — a time to learn, reflect, and strengthen our approach to growth. I want to encourage clubs to key into this and also organize the same for their members.
• Ongoing DRR Visits: I look forward to visiting Rotaract Clubs of Lekki Phase 1, Gbagada, and Lagos Metro this month.
• Our Rota-tech training registration will start later this month. I want to advise that we all be on the lookout and take advantage once the registration starts.
Dear friends, as we continue this journey, let’s remain committed to why we serve. Every meeting, project, and partnership brings us closer to the Rotary ideal. Let’s keep building, serving, and leading — together.
With gratitude and resolve,
Your DRR
