Fathia Aderonke Adekeye
Fathia Aderonke Adekeye is a highly accomplished individual with a strong academic background and a rich history of service and leadership within the Rotary and Rotaract community. Born and raised in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Fathia attended Gbagada Girls’ Junior Secondary School (GGJSS) and later pursued her education at CMS Girls’ Senior Grammar School (CMSGSGS), Bariga, Lagos. She holds a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and a Higher National Diploma in the same field, both from Yaba College of Technology. Furthermore, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic & Computer Engineering from Lagos State University, where she excelled with Second Class Upper.
ROTARY AND ROTARACT INVOLVEMENT
Fathia’s involvement with Rotary and Rotaract spans a decade and showcases her commitment to service and leadership. She embarked on her journey as an Interactor in 2011 at CMS Girls’ Senior Grammar School (CMSGSGS) and subsequently served as the Interact President in 2012. Her dedication to service led her to join the Rotaract Club of Yabatech in 2016-17 and later establish and serve as the Charter President of the Rotaract Club of Gbagada South in 2017-18. Throughout the years, Fathia has held various leadership roles at the club, district, and multi-district levels, demonstrating her capacity for effective and impactful leadership.
AWARDS AND HONORS
Fathia’s contributions have been widely recognized within the Rotary and Rotaract community. She has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious RYLA Man ‘O’ War Pin, the honour of being named the Overall Best Club & Best President in Nigeria, a National Merit Award, and the title of Most Supportive District Board Member. Her outstanding leadership was further acknowledged when she received the title of Political Icon in her final year. Fathia’s commitment to excellence and service has consistently set her apart, earning her the respect and admiration of her peers.
Notably, Fathia has engaged in international Rotary and Rotaract activities, participating in the 2015-16 International Exchange Trips to Cotonou, Republic of Benin, with the Rotaract Club of Gbagada and attending the 2022 Rotaract Africa Summit in Ghana. Beyond her Rotary and Rotaract involvement, she has demonstrated leadership and dedication in various capacities, including serving as the Past Treasurer of the National Association of Electrical/ Electronics Engineering Students (NAEEES), Emeritus Speaker of Engineering Student Representatives Council at YABATECH and 32nd Deputy Speaker of Lagos State University Student Union
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In addition to her exceptional service record, Fathia has gained valuable professional experience, working as an ATM Technician at Ark Technologies and contributing her skills to Guinness Nigeria PLC in Ogba. Further, she has demonstrated her passion for technology and cybersecurity, undertaking her internship at Women Techsters Fellow, Class of 2024 as a Cybersecurity Analyst. Fathia’s entrepreneurial spirit is underscored by her involvement as a serial entrepreneur in Oriflame and as the owner of Trend_by_keye, a business specializing in the supply of men and women wears, bags and footwear’s.
