WELCOME TO OCTOBER—THE MONTH DESIGNATED FOR COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Dearest Rotaractors and Friends,

September gave us another opportunity to reflect, grow, and serve with purpose; despite the challenges.

These moments celebrate new leadership, strengthen fellowship, and promote the culture of continuity, commitment, and excellence in service.

THE GREAT TREK (EKO FOR SHOW) 2026
Eko For Show – The Great Trek 2026, the Star Project of Rotaract District 9112, was held on 25–26 September 2026 in Lagos Island, Holloway Market being the area of focus.
The project featured a 4km+ trek, mega medical outreach, and fire safety sensitisation, alongside the installation of fire extinguishers across more than 250 shops in Holloway Market.
The 3-in-1 programme addressed Community Economic Development, Peace & Conflict Resolution, Environmental & Sanitation, and Disease Prevention & Treatment.
The project also made the milestone as the biggest multimillon naira Rotaract project in Nigeria and Rotaract Africa at large, setting a new standard for youth-led service and community impact.

Special appreciation to all our partners who made this happened. Noting that we had 16 Rotaract Clubs and 6 Rotary Clubs.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT
I encourage all clubs to promptly report their newly inducted members on RI, as this remains the official platform for recording their membership and providing access to valuable My Rotary resources. Today, our membership strength is 782, and our goal remains the same as we want to hit 1000 members this Rotary Year.

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
Our dedication to the Rotary Foundation remains strong, as every contribution helps drive sustainable change and impactful service around the world. So far, we have contributed $1,330 to The Rotary Foundation, moving us closer to our annual goal of $10,000.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who has supported the Foundation so far. Your generosity continues to strengthen our collective impact.
We have also launched our “250 Rotaractors, $20 Each” initiative, with the goal of raising $5,000 by the end of October in celebration of Rotary Foundation Month.
Every contribution counts, and together, we can turn our commitment to service into lasting impact.
